gingerly with the slow.
like a butterfly,
ever so slightly,
I taste my soul.

so beautiful.

diluted bright eyed,
born love and luminescence without natures lies.

remixing
Rape a purple zebra meets rape a purple zebras' which is now the new mix with some extra bass lines. The real deal will come when its played live and add a couple of build up bits and possibly see if we can re-add the irregular rhythm part back in with a nice guitar tone.
Turns out drummer girl doesn't want in no more, which has blown things up a bit, she would of been a good match too, seemed to have the right mindset. Oh well here's to putting all your eggs in one basket...
Wednesday we're gonna film cyclops goat nectar with the audio visual stuff. I have a few ideas knocking around which I'll elaborate on once I've thought more about them. My plan is to read theatre of tragedy by antonin artaud before the final video is taken in order to set my mind in the right gear. I'm looking forward to blogging about some actual art for a change.
Grade 7 exam in the next few weeks, means more crappy sleep - hooray!

crux
rape a purple zebra is finally mixed up and out on the Maradolia myspace (yay!) we're gonna do some further mixing on wednesday so Ben can have a little input. I kinda like the new track a lot but even though some places are purposefully dissonant it doesn't have the fucked up kick I was hoping for to contrast the really gay solo. I guess its all a learning curve, probably do one more track this way then start putting a lot more thought behind the idea of next 5 tracks and make that a recurring theme.

my ties getting in the way
I'm in the right state of mind to make up my audio/video visualizer for interactive sound for the video of cyclops goat nectar we're gonna record on Sunday. Sad thing is I have work in a few hours and I need sleep, if I was any real kind of creative I'd grind my way through them both. FUCK!

Creative Spurt
following on from last nights post I've uploaded a few tracks.
Maradolia: Cyclops Goat Nectar is up and ready. I'm not sure whether I love it or really fucking hate it. There's a bunch of overly complicated jazz chords using the key tone theory and what I call intersecting scales where the chords underlying specify not one mode but at least two. The chord progression uses two chords for each mode, the first set of chords underline the dorian/dorian harmonic minor equivalent, the second is the phrygian its equivalent, the third is the aeolian and the harmonic minor.
The guitar tone is pretty fucking shit, I'm gonna really have to experiment with cubase to see if I can get the one I used and gentle sniff back, and start writing down my settings bleeeuurgh.
The intro is intentionally dissonant using and array of overlapping chords, which is meant to hurt your mind before being subjected to some nice melodies (stupid theory I have).
The whole thing is improvised(poorly) in three sections, I don't know if it really works or if it needs to be scrapped but it was definitely an interesting idea, I know I need to work much more on improv of non standard modes.
Banana Split: Banana split is the intro to rape a purple zebra, it gained its name because it sounds like an out of tune ice cream truck. It's an intro to a much larger song which appears as if it has taken me months to complete (hopefully up soon)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HithertoNothing: Stuck a bunch of other Audio Scrap Book tracks up which I like. Space tiger is a doodle about a bad day, for julia is... however you want to interpret it.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Why is it that all the creative ideas come with bad moods? It means that they're not refined and sound maybe a bit out or a little wrong? Is that good? Of course you don't get things perfect the first time or when your in that state of mind. Are they worth refining and tweaking and making more musically pleasing, or are they fine in they're raw imperfect state that really capture an imperfect moment? Hmmm Food for Thought.
One more thing, should I rename the blog aspiring to pretentiousness?
