Burn the effigy

An effigy in the forest, created from dead wood symbolizes the self unbound by this one reality bound by society and culture. The effigy's form is constricted and tormented. The effigy is burned in an attempt to purge the one reality, the ashes are painted upon the flesh. It is the purity of an unbound self that is placed upon the skin.
